How Clarendon live-in care works

Live-in care is a cost-effective alternative to residential care that allows you to maintain independence and control at home. It offers people the opportunity to build a closer relationship with one carer and to receive around-the-clock support from a trained professional that knows your routines as well as you do.

Once you get in touch with us and tell us a little bit more about the level of care you or your loved one require, we’ll put together an initial assessment and give you some idea of what level of support we think you’ll need and how much it might cost. From there, we’ll sit down with you for a face-to-face chat and we’ll get to know you and your circumstances a little better. We’ll use these initial conversations with you to build a profile of the kind of live-in carer that suits you and your family. We’ll then present you with a few options and together we’ll choose a live-in carer based on their experience, qualifications, character, and skills.

We’ll then place the live-in carer in your home and the care service will begin. We’ll fully manage things after that, dealing with the carer’s pay and holiday and following up with spot-checks, performance reviews and any extra training that’s required.

Our live-in carers

Your live-in carer will be fully trained and background checked. We only employ people that are passionate about the work we do and who meet our strict recruitment criteria.

We employ our live-in carers directly, meaning we do not source carers through third party agencies. The key things we look for in our carers are a compassionate nature and a willingness to work with us to improve the lives of the people we care for.

Your personal live-in carer

The idea of welcoming a new person into your home can seem daunting at first. That’s why it’s important to remember that we’ll be there with you every step of the way to introduce your carer to you and to make sure they know when you want them around as well as the times when you might want to be alone.

Once the service begins, your carer will move into your home and live with you, sleeping overnight in their own bedroom and always on hand to provide you with a responsive and continuous service. They’ll take a two-hour break each 24 hour period at a time that is mutually convenient. When they are on holiday or away for any reason we’ll supply an alternative carer to ensure that there are no breaks in our service.

For families and friends, live-in care provides sound peace of mind that their loved one is enjoying the highest level of care and the best possible quality of life.
