Comprehensive training structure

All new care recruits undergo induction training in Manual Handling, Medication, Food Hygiene, Managing Challenging Behaviour, Safeguarding and First Aid.

Our induction training involves new Home Care Assistants shadowing experienced care workers as well as text based training modules.

We encourage our team to undergo additional training to meet their career aspirations including NVQ level 2 in Social Care.

Excellent rates of pay

Clarendon Home Care strive to offer the highest rates of pay possible and believe that our current pay structure is one of the most attractive in the care sector.
This enables us to attract and retain the best employees and maintain the highest standards of care for our service users.

Grade One

This is the starting rate for all new Home Care Assistants without an NVQ level two in care. It is paid during the first twelve weeks of work with Clarendon Home Care which is the probation period for new Home Care Assistants.


Visits on weekdays:  £7.75 p/h
Visits on Saturdays:  £8.25 p/h
Visits on Sundays:  £9.00 p/h

Grade Two

This is the rate for new Home Care Assistants after passing their twelve week probation period.
It is also the starting rate for new Home Care Assistants who have an NVQ level two in care.


Visits on weekdays:  £8.00 p/h
Visits on Saturdays:  £8.50 p/h
Visits on Sundays:  £9.30 p/h

Grade Three

A Home Care Assistant is eligible to take an NVQ level two course after six months of working for us. If they achieve this qualification, they will be paid at the grade three rate. NVQ level two courses are offered free of charge by Clarendon Home Care.

Home Care Assistants who have an NVQ level two when they start work with us are paid the grade three rate after their twelve week probation period.


Visits on weekdays:  £8.25 p/h
Visits on Saturdays:  £8.75 p/h
Visits on Sundays:  £9.55 p/h

Grade Four

Grade four is awarded to grade three Home Care Assistants at the discretion of their manager for consistent attendance and care standards.  


Visits on weekdays:  £8.50 p/h
Visits on Saturdays:  £9.05 p/h
Visits on Sundays:  £9.90 p/h

Senior Home Care Assistants

We are also currently recruiting Senior Home Care Assistants who will have a seperate pay grade. They must be experienced in the care sector and will be expected to have an NVQ level three in social care or to undertake level three training with us.

Mileage allowance

Clarendon Home Care also pay a mileage allowance for distances travelled between visits.
This is regularly reviewed and is currently set at fifteen pence per mile.

This will total around £1.00 - £1.40 per litre of fuel for an average small car.

Distances travelled between visits are calculated automatically by our computer system.
